FM22 | Brazilian Database Hotfix

27.11.2021

FM Slovakia and Adriano Roberto bring you a brand new Brazilian Database Hotfix, specially created for Football Manager 2022 and the 2021 season. With this fix you can use your own kits for clubs in competition such as State, State Cups and national divisions (Series A, B, C, D and Selective Series D). It’s totaly compatible with the FM 22.1.0 version.

IMPORTANT: The fix for Brazilian clubs can only take effect with a new save because dbc files affect the saved game when it’s first created.

Install Instructions:

First of all you have to download this database fix and extract it into your Football Manager 2022 editor data folder:

Win Vista/Win 7/Win 8: C:/Users/”username”/Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2022/editor data
Win 2000/XP: C:/Documents and Settings/”username”/My Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2022/editor data
Win 98/ME: C:/My Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2022/editor data
Mac OS X: Users/YOUR Mac USERNAME/Library/Application Support/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2022/editor data/
GAMEPASS/MICROSOFT STORE USERS: If you are using this version of the game then your User Data Location is in a slightly different folder, you’ll need to open the Football Manager folder for the year of the game you are using and inside this folder you’ll notice a Gamepass folder and this is the folder you need.

If you done everything right, you should now see in this folder our 2 files. brazil_update.fmf and colour_fix.fmf. With which you need to start a new game. But before let’s do the other necessary steps.

Now you need to delete few files:

  1. Quit the game (if it’s open).
  2. Find the 2200, 2201 or 2210 folder. Depending on the database update you want to play on.
    Windows:

    STEAM
    \Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2022\data\database\db\2210\
    EPIC GAMES
    \Program Files\Epic Games\FootballManager2022\data\database\db\2210\

    Mac:

    STEAM
    /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Football Manager 2022/database/data/db/2210/
    EPIC GAMES
    /Users/Shared/Epic Games/FootballManager2022/database/data/db/2210/

  3. Open the lnc folder and then enter the all sub-folder.
  4. Delete all files you can find in there, particularly the following 3 files:
    • fake.lnc
    • lic_dan_swe_fra.lnc
    • nleague.lnc
  5. Go 2 folders back to find the edt folder.
  6. Open it and then enter the permanent sub-folder.
  7. Delete the file “fake.edt”.
This will fix Niko Kovač from getting renamed to Max Freund, Oliver Kahn from getting renamed to Jens Freund, and a couple of more people.
  8. Again go 2 folders back, this time to find the dbc folder.
    Then enter the permanent sub-folder.
    Delete the following 6 files:

    • zebra award.dbc
    • zebra turin fake staff.dbc

This will fix Juventus from getting renamed to Zebre and prevent fake staff for them.

    • brazil_kits.dbc
    • forbidden names.dbc
    • Licensing2.dbc
    • Licensing2_chn.dbc

This will prevent Brazilian clubs from reverting to 3-letter names and will allow certain kits to be visible again.

  9. Open the game and enjoy Football Manager 2022 with (not only) our brazilian kits.

  1. This hotfix changed the name of a lot of competitions and teams into Portuguese. I play in English, is there a way to fix this?

    • as the author is Brazilian and the official language is also Brazilian Portuguese, it’s for them natural to give them the original names and not the translated ones. But we can ask
